BusinessBuildersNFT Integrates Chainlink VRF and Price Feeds for Secure Functionality

BusinessBuildersNFT is excited to announce that we have integrated Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) and Chainlink Price Feeds on Polygon mainnet.

By integrating the industry-leading decentralized oracle network, we now have access to a verifiable random number generator (RNG) as well as a robust and decentralized price data source. Chainlink VRF helps power a fair NFT minting process while Chainlink Price Feeds help maintain and stabilize the costs of using our NFT bridge.

Business Builders is a play to earn game in which complex DeFi mechanics are introduced to maintain the stability and security of the project in the long term. It is a game of building a business — we intend to simulate the daily life of an entrepreneur, where players can hire and fire employees, build factories in cities, manage city resources, and become presidents of their organization.

These in-game simulations include the minting and burning of NFTs, the staking and increased usability of tokens, as well as community pools for the generation of our native token. Generating Provably Random NFTs With Chainlink VRF

We initially planned to use an internal oracle to constantly generate random numbers and add them to the contract state to mint truly random NFTs. However, we realized that making an in-house oracle was a subpar solution — one that would require more capital than necessary and reduce player trust in the game’s integrity due to a lack of transparency.

We ultimately decided to use Chainlink VRF as the best-in-class solution to the problem of using randomness in blockchain applications. Chainlink VRF works by combining block data that is still unknown when the request is made with the oracle node’s pre-committed private key to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof. The BusinessBuildersNFT’s smart contracts will only accept the random number input if it has a valid cryptographic proof, and the cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof. This helps provide users with automated and publicly verifiable proof directly on-chain that each NFT minting using Chainlink VRF for randomness is probably fair and cannot be tampered with or predicted by the oracle, outside entities, or the BusinessBuilders team.

Chainlink Price Feeds are widely used across the DeFi ecosystem, with the service already helping secure tens of billions of dollars in total value locked (TVL).
